Woman Arrested After Brickell Tinder Date Ends with $37,000 Rolex Stolen from Apartment

A Tinder date in Brickell took a turn for the worse early Sunday morning when a man discovered his $37,000 Rolex and another watch missing from his apartment. Miami police arrested Alexia Jocelyn Flores, 24, on Wednesday in connection with the theft.

The incident began after the victim brought Flores to his luxury high-rise apartment in the Panorama Tower at 1100 Brickell Bay Drive. Police reports indicate the two spent several hours drinking together. Around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, the man asked Flores to leave.

Surveillance video from the building reportedly shows the man escorting Flores to the elevator, where they shared a goodbye kiss. Upon returning to his apartment, the victim found two watches, including the high-value Rolex, missing from his nightstand. He then attempted to contact the Uber driver he had arranged for Flores, only to discover she had blocked the driver.

Detectives located Flores on Wednesday in the Wynwood area, near North Miami Avenue and 21st Street. Officers took her to the downtown police station for questioning. Flores admitted to meeting the victim through Tinder, having dinner, and going back to his apartment. She claimed she believed someone drugged her and could not recall subsequent events. Flores denied taking the watches. Authorities found no police report related to her claim of being drugged.

Police arrested Flores on a charge of grand theft. She remained detained at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center with a $7,500 bond as of Thursday morning. Her legal proceedings will continue in the coming weeks.
