Steven Pabalan, Miami Internist, Dies at 78
Steven Scott Pabalan, a longtime Miami internist known for his intelligence and humor, died Sept. 26, 2026, at age 78. He is survived by his wife, daughters and grandchildren.

Steven Scott Pabalan, a Miami internist who served patients for decades, died Sept. 26, 2026, in Coral Gables, Florida. He was 78. Pabalan died surrounded by family.
Born Oct. 19, 1947, in Chicago, Pabalan earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois, a PhD in Biochemistry from Northwestern University and attended the University of Miami for medical school. He met his wife, Grace Wang, at Northwestern.
Pabalan and Wang shared 48 years of marriage, collecting rocks, caring for orchids and traveling. He is survived by his wife, Grace; daughters Melissa Pabalan (Matthew Baker) and Laura Pabalan; grandchildren Max, Owen and Cameron Baker; and sisters Roberta Kelly, Jeneffer Rubinstein and Angela Leynes. He also leaves nieces, nephews and friends.
The family invites donations to the American Cancer Society or The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research in lieu of flowers.
