Eva Marie Saint, the Oscar-winning actress known for iconic roles in "On the Waterfront" and "North by Northwest," died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2026, at her home in Malibu, California. She was 102.
Saint began her career in live television and theater before making a significant impact on the silver screen. Her performance as Edie Doyle in "On the Waterfront" earned her the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1954.
She collaborated with director Alfred Hitchcock in the 1959 thriller "North by Northwest." Saint also earned a Tony Award nomination for her role in "The Time of Your Life" in 1956. She continued acting into her later years.
