Forecasters anticipate winds between 15-25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. There is a potential for winds reaching 39 to 57 mph. Damage to outdoor structures like porches and carports is possible, along with downed tree limbs and scattered power outages. Efforts to secure property should be underway now.
A Flood Watch is also in effect. Lauderdale can expect 1-3 inches of rain, with isolated higher amounts. This rainfall has the potential for moderate flooding, which could lead to evacuations and rescues. Rivers and streams may swell, and floodwaters could impact structures in vulnerable areas. Hazardous driving conditions are expected, and some road and bridge closures are possible. Heed all flood watches and warnings.
