Our school is excited to recognize and celebrate our students' outstanding commitment to attending school. For the first semester of the 2022-2023 school year, we are proud to acknowledge those students who achieved perfect attendance. Additionally, we will be honoring the students with the highest attendance rates in each grade level. This recognition ceremony will take place during a special assembly where we will celebrate these exemplary students for their dedication to being present and engaged in their learning. Consistent attendance is crucial for academic success, and we commend our students for their hard work and commitment. We look forward to celebrating their achievements!

Mitchell Hammock Road Lane Closures (Overnight work)
Mitchell Hammock Road Lane Closures (Overnight work) • Oviedo, FL Beginning Thursday, October 1 at 9 p.m. through Friday, October 2 at 5 a.m. a contractor for Mitchell Hammock Road will need to close the center Eastbound and Westbound lanes to complete the temporary striping for the median. The work will take place along Mitchell Hammock Road between 800 feet east of Westwood Square to just west of S Norma Avenue. Please note the outermost eastbound and westbound lanes will remain open. This lane closure is for one night only from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Please follow the lane closure traffic devices and slow down for the safety of the workers.
Road closure September 29, 2026 - October 1, 2026
The City of Deerfield Beach Environmental Services Team would like to advise residents and visitors of a temporary road closure, scheduled from Tuesday, September 29th, 2026, through Thursday, October 1st, 2026, on SW 10th Street, between SW 11th Avenue and SW 12th Avenue. Motorists are advised to follow posted detour signs and traffic control devices to ensure safety and minimize delays. We understand this temporary closure may cause inconvenience and appreciate your patience and cooperation as we complete these traffic calming improvements. Town Council Invites Applications for Architectural Commission Appointments
The Town Council is seeking applicants for the Architectural Commission. The Commission serves in an advisory capacity to the Town Council and makes recommendations on matters related to modifications of existing structures visible from public rights-of-way, new construction, and landscaping. In carrying out its responsibilities, the Commission follows the concepts and provisions of the Town's Comprehensive Plan and has the powers and duties prescribed by Ordinance. The Town Council is seeking engaged residents with a genuine interest in architecture, community planning, land development, real estate, landscape architecture, or other relevant business, profession, or civic interest who are committed to supporting the Town's tradition of excellence. All members of the Architectural Commission must be registered voters in the Town of Palm Beach. Members serve three-year terms and may be eligible for reappointment. The Town Council may appoint up to three alternate members to the Commission. Alternate members serve when called upon by the Chair in the absence of a regular member. All residents interested in pursuing an appointment must complete the appropriate application for service and submit it to the Town Clerk’s Office by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2026. The appointments will be on the agenda for consideration and possible appointment at the Town Council meeting on Monday, November 9, 2026. 'Step 1 of 3' is to review your class preferences, click on the Next or Accept button. 'Step 2 of 3' is to Enroll or add to cart, select your preferences and click on the Next button. Governor Ron DeSantis Appoints Three to the Baker County Development Commission | Executive Office of the Governor Skip to main content Governor Ron DeSantis Appoints Three to the Baker County Development Commission September 28 2026 TALLAHASSEE, Fla.— Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of Taylor Curry, Jamey Hodges, and Julie McCall to the Baker County Development Commission. Taylor Curry Curry is the head teller for Ameris Bank. She is active in the children’s ministry at her church. Curry received her associate degree from Florida State College in Jacksonville. Jamey Hodges Hodges is the market president for First Federal Bank. He works in the community as a member of the Baker County Little League, the Baker County Education Foundation, and through Gideons International – Baker Camp. Previously Hodges served as president and board member of the Baker County Chamber of Commerce. He received his associate degree from Florida Gateway College and his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of North Florida. Julie McCall McCall is a retired fraud analyst, previously working for a national mortgage banking company. She currently is a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association, and was previously a member of the American Quilters Society, Mortgage Bankers Association, and the National Sporting Clays Association. McCall has her underwriter and appraisal certifications from Mortgage Bankers Association.

Direction 25 On Jan. 16, 2025, Pensacola Mayor D.C. Reeves announced Direction ’25: Pensacola Parks Revitalization project, an investment of $21.7 million focused on repairing and maintaining city parks and facilities throughout the seven districts. The multiyear initiative includes facility upgrades, playground equipment replacements, resurfacing courts and parking lots, improved Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility and more. This marks the city's largest investment in parks since 1985, addressing long-standing maintenance needs. With funding sourced from the General Fund, Local Option Sales Tax, grants and the Community Redevelopment Agency, at least 54 parks and facilities will benefit from the project. Below is a comprehensive list of all approved Pensacola Parks Revitalization projects scheduled through Spring 2027. FAQ How were these projects chosen? Some projects were already established by allocation of Local Option Sales Tax (LOST) funding issued in previous years. The completion dates may be driven by the year that the funding becomes available. Unspent funds from completed or abandoned LOST projects make up the majority of the $1.7M that has been reallocated to new and existing projects. Why are some projects scheduled before others? This question is largely answered above, with completion dates of existing projects driven by funding availability. New projects were chosen with the criteria of safety and well-being of participants first, then prioritized based on feedback from respective city district councilmembers. Why will it take so long to complete these projects? Some projects have Local Option Sales Tax (LOST) funding allocations tied to them that will not be made available until the fiscal year in which the project is scheduled for completion. Also, due to the limited number of staff in our parks maintenance division and the need to continue daily and routine maintenance, some projects must be carefully timed and/or contracted out for efficiency. To grow attention to your neighborhood park, you may join forces with your neighborhood association and/or contact your city district's parks board member or council member. Book Fair
The annual Scholastic Book Fair is coming to Melrose Elementary School! This year's theme is "Reading is Magic" and promises to be an exciting event for students, staff, and families. **Dates:** October 14th - October 18th, 2024 **Hours:** During regular school hours (8:00 AM - 3:00 PM) **Location:** Melrose Elementary School Library Come discover a wide variety of books for all ages and reading interests, from picture books to young adult novels, as well as educational items and school supplies. Purchasing books at the fair directly supports our school's library and helps fund new acquisitions and literacy programs. **Special Event: Family Night!** Join us for a special Family Night on **Wednesday, October 16th, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM**. This is a wonderful opportunity for families to browse the book fair together, enjoy some light refreshments, and connect with other members of our school community. Students who attend with their families will receive a special giveaway. We encourage all students and families to participate in the Book Fair.
