BISMARCK, ND – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Bismarck has issued a Special Weather Statement for parts of south central North Dakota, effective immediately. Patchy fog is expected to reduce visibility to one-quarter mile or less in the affected areas late tonight, September 26, 2026.
Motorists are advised to prepare for rapidly changing conditions and exercise extra caution when traveling. Drivers should use low beam headlights and be especially vigilant at intersections and railroad crossings.
The affected areas include Burleigh, Kidder, Emmons, Logan, McIntosh, Eastern Morton, and Eastern Sioux counties. This statement was issued at 11:25 PM CDT and is expected to expire at 1:30 AM CDT on September 27, 2026. The NWS anticipates the fog will dissipate by sunrise Sunday morning.
