Residents in central North Dakota, including the James River Valley, are advised to exercise extreme caution when driving this morning due to a Dense Fog Advisory issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Bismarck ND. The advisory is in effect until 11:00 AM CDT today, September 25, 2026.

Visibility is significantly reduced to one quarter mile or less in dense fog. This condition could make driving hazardous. The affected areas include Renville, Bottineau, Rolette, McHenry, Pierce, Mercer, Oliver, Sheridan, Wells, Foster, Burleigh, Kidder, Stutsman, Grant, Emmons, Logan, La Moure, McIntosh, Dickey, Central and Southern Ward/Minot Area, Western McLean, Eastern McLean, Western Morton, Eastern Morton, Western Sioux, and Eastern Sioux counties.

The NWS advises drivers to slow down, use their headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of them. This advisory is urgent and calls for immediate action to ensure road safety.
