Luverne Tops National Power Reliability Rankings 2025

Staff Writer
June 11, 2026

The City of Luverne earned national recognition from the American Public Power Association for electric service reliability in 2025, placing it among the country's top-performing public power utilities.

The association tracks outage and restoration data through its PowerTRX Reliability service, comparing performance against national statistics from the U.S. Energy Information Administration. Public power customers nationwide experience outages for less than half the time that customers of other utility types do.

Luverne maintained power service levels exceeding national benchmarks for public power utilities throughout 2025.

City Administrator Jill Wolf credited the city's staff. "We are proud to receive this recognition," Wolf said. "It reflects the hard work of all our staff to keep Luverne powered."
