Luverne Electric Utility Wins National Reliability Award

Staff Writer
June 11, 2026

The City of Luverne earned a national award from the American Public Power Association for electric reliability in 2025. The APPA, which represents more than 2,000 community-owned utilities across the country, tracks outage data through its PowerTRX service and compares utility performance against national benchmarks.

"We are proud to receive this recognition," City Administrator Jill Wolf said. "It reflects the hard work of our staff to keep Luverne powered."

The award measures outage duration and restoration speed. Utilities that exceed national benchmarks earn recognition from APPA.

Adrienne Lotto, senior vice president of grid security, operations and technical services for APPA, said the honored utilities "have set the standard for excellence and dedication, ensuring that families and businesses can count on their local power providers every day."
