A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for George County, including Lucedale, by the National Weather Service (NWS) Mobile, AL, effective immediately. This warning was issued on October 9 at 3:55 PM CDT and expires October 10 at 12:00 AM UTC.

Residents are advised to plan for hazardous winds of 39 to 57 mph, with peak gusts up to 50 mph. All remaining efforts to protect property should be completed as soon as possible. Move to safe shelter before winds become hazardous. Potential impacts include damage to lightweight structures, downed tree limbs, and scattered power outages. Hazardous driving conditions are expected on bridges and elevated roadways.

Moderate flooding from heavy rain is also possible. Residents in flood-vulnerable areas should consider protective actions. Rivers and tributaries may become swollen, and floodwaters could enter some structures. Heed any flood watches and warnings. Little to no storm surge is expected, and tornadoes are not anticipated.
