Lubbock County Lifts Burn Ban After Rain

Staff Writer
June 11, 2026

Lubbock County Commissioners lifted the countywide burn ban effective immediately following recent rainfall and cooler temperatures that reduced wildfire risk.

Residents may resume outdoor burning but must follow all local regulations. Commissioners urged anyone burning to check wind conditions, maintain clearances from structures and property lines, and keep water or fire suppression equipment nearby. Burn piles must be attended until completely extinguished.

Commissioners can reinstate restrictions if weather conditions deteriorate or fire danger increases.
