Winter Weather Advisory Issued: Snow and Hazardous Travel Expected

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from midnight tonight until Monday at noon for the Livingston Area, Northern Park, Beartooth Foothills, Northern Sweet Grass, and Southern Wheatland, with 2-6 inches of wet snow, strong winds, and hazardous travel expected.

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service in Billings, Montana, effective from midnight tonight until noon MDT on Monday, October 12. Residents in the Livingston Area, Northern Park, Beartooth Foothills, Northern Sweet Grass, and Southern Wheatland are advised to prepare for periods of wet snow.

Total snow accumulations are expected to range between 2 and 6 inches, with some areas potentially receiving higher amounts. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph are also anticipated. These conditions are likely to make travel difficult due to slushy or snowy roads and reduced visibility.

Drivers should exercise extreme caution, especially on US-191 from Big Timber to Judith Gap, I-90 from Big Timber to Livingston, and particularly over Bozeman Pass, where conditions are expected to become hazardous. Tree and power line damage is possible in areas with significant snow accumulation, which could lead to power outages.

To ensure safety, the National Weather Service advises slowing down and using caution while traveling. Expect areas of poor visibility. For the latest road conditions, please call 511.
