A Wind Advisory is in effect for Lincoln, McDuffie, Columbia, Richmond, and Burke counties in Georgia, as well as McCormick and Edgefield counties in South Carolina. The National Weather Service (NWS) Columbia SC issued the advisory at 5:04 AM EDT this morning, October 10, 2026, and it remains in effect until 11:00 PM EDT tonight.
East winds are expected to reach 15 to 20 mph, with gusts potentially as high as 40 mph. These strong winds may make driving difficult, particularly for high-profile vehicles. Residents should use extra caution while traveling.
Impacts include the potential for unsecured outdoor objects to be blown around. Tree limbs could also be blown down, and isolated power outages may occur. The NWS advises securing all outdoor objects to prevent damage or injury.
