A Dense Fog Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Columbia, SC, effective immediately until 11:00 AM UTC (7:00 AM EDT) today, October 2, 2026.

Visibility may be significantly reduced to one-quarter mile or less in dense fog conditions. Drivers are urged to exercise extreme caution. If you are on the roads in affected areas, reduce your speed, use low-beam headlights, and allow for extra following distance.

The advisory covers a wide area including the following counties: Lincoln, McDuffie, Columbia, Richmond, Burke, Chesterfield, McCormick, Kershaw, Edgefield, Saluda, Lexington, Richland, Lee, Aiken, Sumter, Barnwell, Calhoun, Bamberg, Southern Lancaster, Northwestern Orangeburg, and Central Orangeburg.

This advisory is set to expire at 11:00 AM UTC (7:00 AM EDT) this morning.
