County Funds Airport & Stormwater Projects for Lake Worth Beach
The Board of County Commissioners approved a $1.2 million contract for airport consulting services and $1.4 million for the Country Club Acres Stormwater Improvements project at their Oct. 6, 2026, meeting. Funding for housing development and water treatment upgrades was also approved.

Lake Worth Beach residents will benefit from continued infrastructure improvements and airport services following decisions made by the Board of County Commissioners at their Oct. 6, 2026, meeting. The board approved a contract for airport consulting services and allocated funds for a stormwater project impacting areas near the historic downtown.
The Department of Airports received approval for Amendment No. 8 to its Contract for Consulting Professional Services with AECOM Technical Services, Inc. This amendment authorizes an expenditure up to $1,197,793.53 for ongoing professional consulting services essential for airport operations and development.
Commissioners also approved a Standard Grant Agreement with the State of Florida Department of Environmental Protection, allocating $1,400,000 for the Country Club Acres Stormwater Improvements. The project, slated for completion by June 30, 2028, aims to address stormwater management needs, potentially reducing flooding and improving water quality near the Intracoastal Waterway.
Additionally, the board approved a loan agreement for $1,880,000 in HOME-CHDO funding to Habitat Housing Solutions, Inc. This funding will support the construction of 11 single-family homes for income-eligible households in Lake Worth Beach and Lantana. The Water Utilities department also authorized a supplemental work order of $1,017,026.67 for Water Treatment Plant 11 Membrane Train Improvements.
