UHealth, the University of Miami Health System, achieved its strongest performance to date in the U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals rankings for 2026-2027. This recognition highlights the institution's consistent excellence across multiple specialties, driven by a commitment to continuous improvement and patient care. Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, a part of UHealth, secured the number one position in ophthalmology for an unprecedented 25th consecutive year. Dr. Dipen Parekh, CEO of UHealth, attributed this sustained excellence to the dedicated team at Bascom Palmer and their ability to maintain a high level of quality over two and a half decades. This consistent top ranking demonstrates the institute's leadership in eye care.

Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, South Florida’s only NCI-designated cancer center, also received significant recognition. It ranked number one in cancer care statewide, reflecting its multidisciplinary approach to treatment. Dr. Parekh highlighted the center's world-class imaging, pathology, and a robust sarcoma program.
