Key Biscayne Road Paving & Flooding Solutions 2026
Key Biscayne will pave roads, install traffic calming measures, and improve Harbor Drive based on priorities identified in the Village's 2026 biennial resident survey, Village Manager Steve Williamson said.
The Village is advancing the Shoreline infrastructure plan and coordinating with Miami-Dade County Sheriff's Office on event traffic management for the Rickenbacker Causeway. Crews will continue maintaining stormwater systems to reduce flooding around the KBK-8 Center and Garden District.
Planning has begun to bury electrical and telecommunications lines, a project designed to reduce storm damage and improve system reliability. Design work is underway for a 2027 beach renourishment project. The Village is also reviewing the Community Center to identify needed upgrades.
Parking citations rose 42 percent as the Village increased enforcement efforts. The Village launched a golf cart safety campaign focused on safe driving practices.
"The community's decision for self-governance was rooted in a desire for leaders who engage directly to resident needs," Williamson said. "By listening and working together, we are building a community that reflects our shared values."
The Village posts updates on Village Connect, its website, and Instagram.
