Key Biscayne Roads, Flooding & Parking Safety Improvements
Key Biscayne officials launched infrastructure and safety improvements based on resident feedback from the 2026 Biennial Survey, Village Manager Steve Williamson said.
The Village paved roads, upgraded traffic calming devices and traffic circles, and began Harbor Drive improvements. Officials coordinated with Miami-Dade County Sheriff's Office and the City of Miami on event traffic management for the Rickenbacker Causeway.
Flooding reduction work is underway around the KBK-8 Center and Garden District. The Village plans to bury electrical and telecommunications lines to reduce storm vulnerability.
Parking citations rose 42 percent under a stricter enforcement approach. The Village also launched a golf cart safety campaign.
Planning continues for a 2027 beach renourishment project and a comprehensive review of the Community Center.
"Resident input guides our decisions and priorities every day," Williamson said. "We are focused on making measurable progress in the areas our community cares about most."
Residents can follow updates through Village Connect, the Village website, and Instagram.
