Key Biscayne Roads, Flooding & Parking Plan 2024
The Village of Key Biscayne is moving forward with infrastructure and safety improvements drawn from resident feedback and the 2026 Resident Biennial Survey.
Village Manager Steve Williamson said residents guide the village's daily decisions. "We are focused on making measurable progress in the areas our community cares about most," he said.
The village is paving roads, upgrading traffic calming devices and traffic circles, and improving Harbor Drive. Officials are coordinating with the Miami-Dade County Sheriff's Office and City of Miami on event traffic management for the Rickenbacker Causeway.
Crews are installing flood reduction systems to protect the KBK-8 Center and Garden District while maintaining the existing stormwater system. The village is planning to underground electrical and telecommunications lines with utility partners to reduce storm vulnerability.
The village issued 42 percent more parking citations as part of a proactive safety approach and launched a golf cart safety campaign. Planning continues for a 2027 beach renourishment project and a comprehensive review of the Community Center.
The village provides updates through Village Connect, its website, and Instagram.
