Red Flag Warning Expires for Sweetwater, Natrona Counties
The Red Flag Warning for Sweetwater and Natrona Counties has expired as of 6:00 PM MDT today, October 5, 2026, due to decreasing winds, according to the National Weather Service in Riverton.
ROCK SPRINGS, WY – The Red Flag Warning previously issued for Sweetwater and Natrona Counties, including the Rock Springs BLM, Flaming Gorge NRA, Casper BLM, Granite, Green, Ferris, and Rattlesnake Mountains, and Casper Mountain, has expired. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Riverton, Wyoming, issued an update at 5:47 PM MDT on October 5, 2026, stating that the warning would be allowed to expire at 6:00 PM MDT today.
According to the NWS, winds are continuing to decrease this evening, leading to the expiration of the severe weather alert. Residents in the affected areas should remain aware of local conditions but are no longer under a Red Flag Warning.
