University Station, a key development in Downtown Hollywood, has earned national recognition, securing the 2026 Best Overall Development and Best Mixed-Use Development in Affordable Housing Finance’s annual Readers’ Choice Awards. These awards highlight outstanding affordable housing projects nationwide.

Developed by Housing Trust Group in partnership with the City of Hollywood and supported by Broward County and the Florida Housing Finance Corporation, University Station transformed a city-owned site into a mixed-use community. The project includes 216 affordable apartments, a campus for Barry University's College of Nursing and Health Sciences, retail spaces, and public and resident parking. It also features infrastructure for future transit connections along the Dixie Highway corridor.

The development provides stable, affordable housing, with all 216 residential units income-restricted for 99 years. This project demonstrates the effectiveness of public-private partnerships in meeting community needs.

The Affordable Housing Finance Readers’ Choice Awards recognize University Station’s innovative design and community impact. Housing Trust Group and its partners received accolades for completing the project in Hollywood.
