A Hollywood, Florida educational institution has reaffirmed its commitment to providing a fair and respectful environment for all students and employees. The updated policy, which aligns with legal requirements, ensures equal access, opportunity and treatment across all educational programs and employment aspects.
The policy explicitly states that discrimination or harassment based on age, marital status, citizenship status, political beliefs, color, pregnancy, race, disability, religion, ethnic or national origin, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, genetic information (GINA), social and family background, and linguistic preference will not be tolerated.
The institution also strictly prohibits sexual harassment, defined as unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, or other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature. Such conduct is unacceptable when it is made an explicit or implicit condition of employment or participation in educational programs, or when it is used as a basis for employment or educational decisions.
The institution's commitment includes fostering a workplace and educational setting free from slurs, innuendos, hostile treatment, or any verbal or physical conduct that reflects negatively on an individual's protected characteristics. This ensures all members of the school community are treated with respect and dignity.
