If you live in Pennsylvania and have a low income, you may qualify. Apply online, by mail, or in person today. Apply for SNAP (opens in a new tab) Find out if you're eligible (opens in a new tab) Important Notice About Medicaid and SNAP Benefits In July 2025, Republicans in Congress passed a bill that will change programs run by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS). President Trump signed that bill into law. The law makes changes to Medicaid (Medical Assistance) and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). SNAP changes began at the end of 2025. Learn more about SNAP work requirements, how they affect SNAP benefits, and how to report that you are meeting these requirements. Medicaid changes begin in January 2027. Learn more about Medicaid changes, how they affect you. DHS will help you prepare for changes to your benefits as they come. Be on the lookout for more information from DHS about your benefits. Your benefits will not change without notice from DHS. You will have the opportunity to update your case information before any changes are made. You can help be ready for any changes by keeping your address and other contact information up-to-date with DHS and the US Postal Service. Apply for SNAP Apply online, in person, or by mail. All Pennsylvanians who need help are encouraged to apply. You do not need to know whether you are eligible to apply for SNAP. DHS will review your application and let you know. Do I qualify? To qualify for SNAP, you must meet certain rules. These are set by the federal government. Your eligibility depends on: Income: Your household income must be within federal limits. Household details: Health, disability status, and household size can affect eligibility. Work and volunteering: Some adults must work or volunteer to stay eligible. Training and education: Going to school or being in a job training program may meet this requirement. Who can apply? The head of the household The spouse of the head of household Any other responsible household member A designated authorized representative (can be a friend, relative, neighbor, or community organization). These policies can be viewed at the Office of Administration, Office for Information Technology website. Security measures have been integrated into the design, implementation, and day-to-day operations of the entire operating environment as part of our continued commitment to the security of electronic content as well as the electronic transmission of information. Tools, policies, and protocols are used to safeguard the submission of information through Commonwealth websites. For services requiring online financial or sensitive transactions, PA.gov and other Commonwealth managed websites uses the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption protocol to safeguard sensitive personally identifiable information (PII), during online transactions. Information is encrypted from your computer to the servers processing the request. To further secure privacy, do not divulge any passwords or sensitive information (e.g. credit card number) to anyone in a phone call or e-mail. When finished with applications that are password protected or required the input of your credit card information or other (PII), it is recommended to close or otherwise quit the web browser. In certain instances, a password may be generated to access or submit PII. Do not divulge this password to anyone. The Commonwealth will never ask for the password in an unsolicited phone call or e-mail. When completed with browsing any commonwealth websites, it is strongly recommended that the user logout (where applicable) and quit the web browser to remove temporary data that may have been stored in the web browser. When contacting the Commonwealth through any method of communication (phone call, email, web form, etc.), determine whether the method of communication is adequately secure to provide any PII or other confidential information. Renew Your Vehicle Registration You need to renew your vehicle registration to drive your vehicle on public roads. If you don't renew it, you could get fined or even lose your right to drive. Customers may be required to attempt logging in to the system more than once to gain access. We apologize for any inconvenience. Overview Renewing your vehicle and/or trailer registration can, in most cases, be completed online, at any of PennDOT's Online Messenger services or through the mail. Mailing instructions can be found on the back of the applicable forms. To renew online you will need your registration plate number, title number, insurance information, odometer reading, a valid credit card, and a printer. At the end of the transaction, you will be given the opportunity to print a receipt and a permanent registration credential. PennDOT will no longer mail a registration card for registrations renewed online. Renew a Driver's License A Pennsylvania driver's license is valid for four years, expiring on the day after your birthday. PennDOT sends an invitation to renew three months prior to expiration. Residents who are 65 or older have the option of renewing their license every two years, instead of standard four years. If there are no corrections or changes, other than a change of address, you can renew online. Beginning May 7, 2025, Pennsylvanians will need a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license, photo ID card, or another form of federally-acceptable identification (such as a valid passport or military ID) to board a domestic commercial flight or enter a federal building or military installation that requires ID. Renew your license online If there are no corrections or changes, other than a change of address, you can renew your driver's license online(opens in a new tab). You can also check the expiration date of your driver's license online. Upon completing your driver's license/photo ID renewal online, you will receive a camera card in the mail within 14 days. When you receive your camera card take it to your local PennDOT Photo License Center (opens in a new tab)to obtain your new product. In-person and by mail application process 1 You will receive an invitation to renew, but you can also download the renewal form Receive an Invitation to Renew (DL60A/DL60R) or download Form DL-143(opens in a new tab) (PDF). 2 Return the completed form and the applicable fee to PennDOT Return completed application with a check or money order made payable to PennDOT in the amount indicated on the form. Checks, money orders and/or credit/debit cards are accepted, but cash cannot be accepted. You can make checks or money orders payable to PennDOT for the appropriate fee(opens in a new tab). 3 Get your camera card A camera card will be mailed to you, and you should receive it within seven to ten working days after the form is processed. 4 Go to a photo license center After getting your camera card, go to any photo license center with your ID. There, you can get your new driver's license. You might have to confirm the last four digits of your social security number. Notes If you have not reconciled an outstanding sanction(s) in another state(s), PennDOT is unable to issue you any driver's license product. So, wait times are shorter on other days. PennDOT uses advanced facial recognition for photo ID renewals. Berks County - Logic & Accuracy Testing Logic & Accuracy Testing News Date: Friday, September 25, 2026 Logic & Accuracy testing for the 2026 General Election Due Public Notice is hereby given that Berks County Election Services will be conducting the Logic & Accuracy testing of the precinct voting equipment to be used in the General Election to be held on November 3, 2026, beginning Monday, October 5, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., and continuing thereafter until completed. The testing is open to the public and will be conducted at the Berks County South Campus, located at 400 E. Wyomissing Ave. in Mohnton, PA. The testing of the electronic poll books will be held at the same location, beginning Monday, October 26, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., until complete. Further the Logic & Accuracy testing of the central count tabulators will be conducted on Friday, October 23, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., at 600 Penn Street, 3rd floor, in Reading, PA.
