A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Greene County, including Eutaw, effective immediately by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Birmingham, AL. The warning was issued tonight, October 9, at 9:56 PM CDT and remains in effect until 6:00 AM CDT tomorrow, October 10.

Residents should plan for hazardous winds reaching 10-20 mph with gusts up to 45 mph, with a potential for sustained winds of 39 to 57 mph. Complete all property protection efforts now and move to safe shelter before winds become hazardous. Damage to porches, awnings, and unanchored mobile homes is possible, along with broken tree limbs and scattered power outages.

A Flood Watch is also in effect, with an additional 1-3 inches of rain expected, potentially leading to moderate flooding. Emergency plans should include the possibility of evacuations and rescues. Heed all flood watches and warnings; failure to act could result in serious injury or loss of life. Rivers may overspill banks, and roads could become impassable. Tornadoes are not expected, but gusty winds may occur.
