Residents in Judith Gap should prepare for severe winter conditions, as a Winter Storm Warning has been issued. The warning, effective immediately, is in place until Monday, October 12, at 12:00 PM MDT.

The National Weather Service in Billings, MT, forecasts periods of heavy snow and blowing snow. Total snow accumulations are expected to be between 4 and 8 inches, with mountainous areas possibly seeing up to a foot of snow. North winds are anticipated to gust up to 45 mph.

Travel through Judith Gap, particularly on US-191, will be very difficult due to snowy and slick roads and poor visibility. The NWS also warns of potential tree and power line damage, which could lead to power outages.

If travel is unavoidable, be prepared for severe winter conditions. Keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. For the latest road conditions, dial 511.
