Winter Storm Warning for Judith Gap: Heavy Snow and High Winds Expected

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for Judith Gap from this evening until Monday, October 12, bringing heavy snow, blowing snow, and high winds that will make travel difficult and may cause power outages.

Residents of Judith Gap should prepare for a Winter Storm Warning in effect from 6 PM this evening, October 10, until noon MDT on Monday, October 12. The National Weather Service in Billings, MT, has issued this warning, indicating severe conditions are expected.

Periods of heavy snow and blowing snow are anticipated, with total snow accumulations between 4 and 8 inches. Mountainous areas could see nearly a foot of snow. Winds are expected to gust as high as 40 mph, creating hazardous conditions.

Travel is expected to be very difficult, particularly along US-191. The Monday morning commute will be impacted. The National Weather Service warns that tree and power line damage is possible, which could lead to power outages.

If travel is essential, carry an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle. For the latest road conditions, call 511.
