A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Inland Franklin County, effective immediately and expiring October 10 at 1:15 AM UTC. The National Weather Service in Tallahassee, FL, advises residents to complete all remaining property protection efforts and move to safe shelter before hazardous winds arrive.
Peak winds are forecast at 15-25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph, with potential for wind speeds of 39 to 57 mph. Impacts could include damage to porches, carports, and unanchored mobile homes, along with broken tree limbs and scattered power outages.
A Flood Watch and Tornado Watch are also in effect. Additional rainfall of 2-4 inches is expected, with potential for major flooding that may lead to evacuations and rescues. Rivers and streams could overflow, and floodwaters may enter structures. A very favorable situation for tornadoes exists, with the potential for numerous, possibly intense tornadoes. Residents in manufactured homes or boats should relocate to safe shelter. Listen for tornado watches and warnings and be ready to shelter quickly.
