Coastal Franklin residents must shelter immediately. A Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect for Apalachicola, Eastpoint, Carrabelle, and Alligator Point. Issued by NWS Tallahassee FL on October 9 at 5:05 PM EDT, the warning indicates severe and immediate threats from wind, storm surge, flooding rain, and tornadoes.

Peak winds of 35-45 mph with gusts to 65 mph are expected until early Saturday morning. Last-minute property protection efforts should be complete. Residents must remain sheltered from hazardous winds. Life-threatening storm surge of 4-6 feet above ground is possible through Saturday morning. Evacuations should be complete, and those who evacuated should be in safe shelters. Do not venture outside.

A Flood Watch is in effect, with an additional 2-4 inches of rain expected. Major flooding is possible, likely prompting evacuations and rescues. Heed all flood watches and warnings. A Tornado Watch is also in effect; the situation is very favorable for many tornadoes. Stay in your shelter and move to the safest place if a tornado warning is issued.
