This warning, issued October 10 at 2:07 AM EDT, affects Apalachicola, Eastpoint, Carrabelle, and Alligator Point. Residents in these areas should shelter immediately.
Peak winds of 20-30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph are expected. Last-minute property protection efforts should be complete. Residents must shelter from hazardous wind now. A life-threatening storm surge of 2-4 feet above ground is possible, particularly around high tide. Flood preparations and ordered evacuations should be complete, and evacuees should be in safe shelters. Remain sheltered and do not venture outside.
A Flood Watch is in effect due to potential major rainfall flooding. Evacuations and rescues are likely. Heed all flood watches and warnings; failure to act could result in serious injury or loss of life. There is also a significant potential for several tornadoes. Stay within your shelter and remain informed. Move quickly to the safest place within your shelter if a tornado warning is issued.
