A Tropical Storm Warning is now in effect for Coastal Franklin, including Apalachicola, Eastpoint, Carrabelle, and Alligator Point, as of October 7 at 11:00 PM EDT, issued by NWS Tallahassee FL. Residents are urged to complete all preparations immediately, and to evacuate if orders are given for your area.

Life-threatening storm surge of 4-6 feet above ground is possible from Friday morning until Saturday morning. Evacuation efforts and flood preparations must be completed soon, before conditions become unsafe. Failure to take action could result in serious injury or loss of life due to extensive flooding and potential major rainfall amounts of 3-6 inches.

Tropical storm force winds of 20-30 mph with gusts to 40 mph are expected within the next 36 hours. Prepare for limited wind damage, including damage to lightweight structures and potential power outages. A few tornadoes are also possible; be ready to shelter quickly if a tornado warning is issued.
