Kim Barnes Named Florida's Clerk of the Year

Fort Walton Beach City Clerk Kim Barnes earned the 2026 Clerk of the Year award from the Florida Association of City Clerks, recognizing her contributions to the professional status, image and education of municipal clerks.

Barnes joined Fort Walton Beach in 2007 and became City Clerk in January 2015. She holds the Master Municipal Clerk (MMC) designation from the International Institute of Municipal Clerks, awarded to clerks who complete rigorous education requirements and demonstrate significant contributions to local government and their communities.
