UF Dual Enrollment Program Now Available to Lee County High School Students

The School District of Lee County and the University of Florida announced a dual enrollment partnership Monday, allowing qualified high school juniors and seniors to take online undergraduate courses taught by UF faculty at no cost.
Sixty-eight students have registered to start classes in August. Eligible students must maintain a minimum 3.6 unweighted GPA and meet competitive standardized test score thresholds on the SAT, ACT, or CLT exams.
Credits earned through UF courses fulfill degree requirements at the university and transfer to other public and private colleges nationwide. The program operates across all 15 district high schools and represents the only such opportunity with UF in Southwest Florida.
"This agreement aligns with our commitment to providing rigorous pathways that prepare our students for global success," said Dr. Nathan Shaker, Chief Academic Officer for Lee County Schools.
The partnership expands existing dual enrollment options at Florida Gulf Coast University, Florida SouthWestern State College, and Barry University. Eligible juniors and seniors can enroll through their high school guidance offices.
