Envision St. Cloud Citywide Master Plan
Envision St. Cloud convened a series of community conversations to elicit observations, general concerns, broad community or individual values, and many specific ideas for change rooted in people’s everyday experiences in St. Cloud. The plan born out of these conversations describes the important shared community values and describes potential projects and actions going forward. This structure will allow the City to be agile enough to meet the changing development conditions while holding true to the important tenets of the plan. The City has already been moving down the road on several initiatives rooted in the Envision St. Cloud building blocks. You can view this community enhancing plan HERE.
Proposed Budget - FY 26/27
Florida law requires the Village Council to annually adopt a balanced budget and establish the ad valorem millage rate for the upcoming fiscal year. The proposed FY 2026–27 budget serves as the Village's financial and operating plan and provides funding for the delivery of municipal services and capital improvements. Since the June 15, 2026, Budget Workshop staff have updated the proposed budget to reflect revised revenue estimates. Based on the Palm Beach County Property Appraiser's certification of taxable values, ad valorem revenues are projected to increase by approximately $59,650 over the preliminary estimate. Final insurance and employee benefit costs are still pending and will be incorporated prior to budget adoption. Budgetary Highlights: Maintains the current millage rate of 6.4595 mills Total proposed budget of $52.5 million General Fund reserves remain above the Village's 25% policy Funds over $18 million in utility and capital improvements No new debt proposed Continues investment in public safety Continues long-term street and sidewalk improvements These projects improve public safety, enhance neighborhood infrastructure, and preserve the Village's public assets. Mayor's Office Internship Opportunities (PAID) - Summer 2026 Summer Youth Internship Program (SYIP) The Summer Youth Internship Program (SYIP) provides high school students in grades 10 through 12 with a unique opportunity to gain valuable, real-world work experience through a paid, five-week internship during the summer, usually from July through August. SYIP interns are only allowed to work 150 hrs. over the 5-week internship period. Open to eligible Miami-Dade County Public Schools (MDCPS) students that are rising 10th-12th graders (ages 15–18), this program helps young people build professional skills, explore career paths, and connect with mentors in their community. Offered in partnership with Miami-Dade County Public Schools (MDCPS) and supported by dedicated partners such as The Children’s Trust, CareerSource South Florida, the Educational Federal Credit Union (EdFed), among others, SYIP is a powerful example of how public-private partnerships can positively impact youth development. We are proud to continue our commitment to empowering the next generation through meaningful, hands-on learning experiences each summer. For the past decade, Miami-Dade County has proudly supported SYIP, offering more than 50 internship opportunities across various departments each summer. Students interested in participating are encouraged to connect with their school counselor or designated “School Champion” to learn more about the application process. Fellowships Fellowships, designed to provide emerging professionals with meaningful, career-focused experience within public service fields. Participants work alongside experienced leaders on impactful projects across County departments, fostering professional growth, leadership development, and a clear pathway to a fulfilling career in public service. Panama City Farmers' Market The Panama City Farmers' Market brings the community together every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Historic Downtown Panama City. Featuring more than 100 vendors, the Market offers fresh local produce, farm-raised meats, honey, baked goods, artisan foods, handmade crafts, and more, making it a popular destination for residents and visitors to shop local and support local businesses. To accommodate the Market's continued growth, the Panama City Commission voted unanimously on March 10, 2026, to designate Harrison Avenue as the Market's permanent home following its temporary relocation from McKenzie Park during park construction. Keeping the Market on Harrison Avenue also allows McKenzie Park to remain available for other community events and activities on Saturdays. Throughout 2026, the Market will rotate between two sections of Harrison Avenue: March 14 – June 27: 4th Street to 6th Street July 1 – September 30: 4th Street to Beach Drive October 1 – December 31: 4th Street to 6th Street The rotating schedule is designed to support the Market's continued success while providing opportunities throughout downtown. Governor Ron DeSantis Highlights More than $20 Billion Investment to Widen Florida’s Turnpike and Improve Service Plazas
Today, Governor Ron DeSantis highlighted more than $20 billion in investments to revitalize Florida’s Turnpike, expanding capacity along the entire 320-mile mainline from South Florida through Central Florida to I-75 in Wildwood. The Governor also announced nearly $8.5 million for new food concepts, amenities, and customer services at Turnpike service plazas, along with nearly $54 million to expand and improve truck parking across the system
