One weekly curbside recycling collection. Free annual bulk pickup service. Commercial Services Roll-off services for open-top containers, compactors and recycling needs. Front load services for solid waste and recycling. Special pickups for items that do not meet normal collection requirements. South Halifax Drive Lane Closures • City of Ormond Beach Road Closures Posted on September 30, 2026 From Monday, October 5th, 2026 to Thursday October 8th, 2026, South Halifax Drive will have nighttime lane closures between Ormond Parkway and Valencia Drive, from 7PM to 6AM. This is for sewer repair work. During the lane closure traffic flaggers will be directing traffic; please expect some delays. Please use extra caution due to the narrow lanes. Once the work is complete the road will be reopened and traffic will be permitted to resume. If you have any questions regarding this closure, please contact Ormond Beach Engineering at 386-610-0550. Fire Impact Fees
Beginning January 1, 2025, fire impact fees will increase for new development in specific areas of Sumter County. An impact fee is a one-time charge collected in the area North of Florida’s Turnpike and East to The Villages Public Safety Department Dependent District service boundary. The payment of the fire impact fee is concurrent to the issuance of building permits in this area. The fire impact fee can only be used for increasing the capacity of service through capital (not operational) expenditures. With the continued growth in and around the City of Wildwood, Sumter County plans to build a new fire station to serve the area in the Sumter County Fire & EMS boundary to meet appropriate response times for residents and businesses. The $8 million dollar estimate is for the land acquisition, design, construction, and fire engines to equip the new fire station. The area of location of the new fire station will be along the US 301 corridor north of Florida’s Turnpike and south of the Marion County line. New Residential Impact Fee Rates: · Single-family or multi-family lot: $973 · Manufactured home lot: $776 · Retirement community lot: $585 For the full listing of impact fees, please click here. This tool provides detailed information on parcels within Sumter County, making it easy to view parcel-specific details and the impact fee coverage area. Sumter County is dedicated to ensuring its infrastructure keeps pace with growth, enhancing public safety and quality of life for all residents.

Special Pickup Info
The city provides a one time a year bulk pickup service for larger items that do not meet collection requirements for most residents with active utility accounts. Items must be placed within 10 feet of the curb but not in the street, under overhead wires, or low-hanging limbs. Yard debris and household items may be disposed of simultaneously; however, they must be in separate piles. Pickups are scheduled in the order in which they are called into the Public Works Department. Residents can also request a special pickup for an additional charge, which will be added to the resident's monthly utility bill. The rates for these pickups are as follows: Clean Yard debris: $101.43 for every 15 minutes Miscellaneous items (Class III and Construction & Demolition): $111.57 for every 15 minutes After placing all your refuse at the curb, call the Temple Terrace Public Works Department at (813) 506-6570. Once your request is submitted your pickup will be serviced in order by request date. NOTE: The free annual pickup does NOT apply to the removal of Construction and Demolition debris, Tires, household hazardous waste or trees larger than 10" DBH (Diameter at Breast Height). Trimming and removing trees 10" in diameter or larger requires a permit from the City of Temple Terrace. The work must be approved by the city arborist or any licensed arborist who has inspected the tree and submitted the proper permit application. Invasive species are exempt. The city will remove tree debris for a fee (see fees above). Household Hazardous Waste Household Hazardous waste is NOT to be picked up by any special or annual pickup. Hillsborough County provides a service to city residents for free disposal of items including, but not limited to: Motor oil/Cooking oil Car batteries Chemicals Pesticides Fluorescent/LED light bulbs Antifreeze/Engine coolant Fire extinguishers View more information on disposing of Household Hazardous Waste or call the Hillsborough County Solid Waste Department at (813)-272-5680. Household Electronics & Paint Electronics & Paint are NOT to be picked up by any special or annual pickup. Hillsborough County provides a service to city residents for free disposal at various locations including: Alderman's Ford Solid Waste Facility - 9402 County Road in Plant City Hillsborough Heights Solid Waste Facility - 6209 County Road in SeffnerThere is also HHW collection on the third Saturday of the month from 8 AM to 2 PM Northwest County Solid Waste Facility - 8001 W. Linebaugh Avenue in Tampa Sheldon Road HHW Collection Center- 9805 Sheldon Road in TampaOnly available on the first Saturday of the month from 8 AM to 2 PM Limited to HHW - this is not a CCC South County Solid Waste Facility - 13000 US Hwy 41 in GibsontonThere is also HHW collection on the second Saturday of the month from 8 AM to 2 PM Wimauma Solid Waste Facility - 16180 W.
