Job ID 2024-18760 Category Parks and Recreation Type Full-Time Salary $40,825.60 - $53,070.40 Location US-FL-Multiple Locations Overview Under general supervision, performs protective and enforcement work necessary for the safety and welfare of park patrons; enforces applicable rules and regulations to ensure the proper and safe utilization of facilities and to protect County property and natural resources; and provides courteous service and assistance to park patrons. Responsibilities Patrols assigned area to ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations; patrols buildings and grounds to prevent theft and vandalism; responds to disturbances and complaints; prepares reports and testifies in court; opens, closes, and secures park facilities and buildings; provides information and directions to park patrons; renders first aid; initiates corrective action or notifies supervisor of any unusual condition or unsafe practice; may operate a County vehicle; and performs related duties as required. Qualifications Graduation from high school or an equivalent certification, supplemented by completion of thirty (30) hours of college course work. Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License and be able to obtain a Palm Beach County Driving Permit within thirty (30) days of hire. Must be State of Florida Law Enforcement Certified. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and evenings. NOTE: It is mandatory for Palm Beach County employees in positions designated as disaster support personnel to report for duty during a declared emergency.
