Coastal Del Norte and Northern Coastal Humboldt residents are advised to slow down and use extra caution while driving this morning due to a Dense Fog Advisory. The National Weather Service (NWS) Eureka has issued this advisory, effective immediately until 5:00 AM PDT today, October 6th.

The NWS reports visibility will be reduced to less than one-quarter mile in patchy dense fog across the affected areas. Drivers should be aware that visibility can change dramatically in short distances.

The primary impact of this advisory is hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility. The NWS recommends allowing extra time to reach your destination. If you must drive, remember to slow down, use your headlights, and maintain plenty of distance between your vehicle and others.
