A Wind Advisory has been issued for Southeastern Elko County, White Pine County, Northwestern Nye County, and Northeastern Nye County, effective immediately until 5:00 AM PDT on Monday, October 12. Residents in these areas should secure outdoor objects and exercise caution while driving.

The National Weather Service in Elko, NV, reports south to southwest winds of 20 to 30 mph are expected, with gusts potentially reaching up to 50 mph. These strong winds can make driving difficult, particularly for high-profile vehicles. Tree limbs may be blown down, and localized power outages are possible.

Additionally, strong winds this afternoon could lead to blowing dust, reducing visibility to one mile or less in some locations. The Wind Advisory is in effect from its issuance at 2:48 PM PDT on October 10 until 5:00 AM PDT on October 12.

Community members are advised to secure any loose outdoor items to prevent them from being blown away or causing damage. Drivers should use extra caution, especially on open roads. Stay informed of changing conditions.
