10/09/2026 · Dunedin edition

Redington Beach will host its annual Public Safety Day on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Town Park, 16341 Gulf Boulevard. The event allows residents to engage with public safety officials and learn about community emergency services.

Attendees will see displays and demonstrations, including an armored truck, a SWAT robot, a classic car, a Tahoe display and a K-9 demonstration. These exhibits offer a close look at equipment and skills used by local law enforcement and emergency personnel.

The event also reminds residents about proper use of emergency services. While 911 is the direct line for law enforcement, fire rescue and EMS in critical situations, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office provides a non-emergency number for less urgent matters.

For non-emergency situations, such as crimes not in progress or for general information, residents can call the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office at 727-582-6200. Officials advise calling 911 if unsure whether a situation is a true emergency. Call takers will determine the appropriate level of assistance.
