Winter Weather Advisory: Southern Denali Borough — Snow, Blowing Snow Expected
A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the Southern Denali Borough, effective until Sunday morning, October 11, with up to 8 inches of snow and blowing snow expected; drivers should slow down and check road conditions.
Residents and travelers in the Southern Denali Borough, particularly south of Denali Park, should prepare for significant winter weather. A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service in Fairbanks, effective immediately until 7:00 AM AKDT on Sunday, October 11, 2026.
Snow accumulations of up to 8 inches are expected along portions of the Parks Highway. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph could create areas of blowing snow, reducing visibility. While rain may mix in on Saturday, roads and especially bridges are anticipated to become slick and snow-covered.
Drivers are advised to slow down and use extreme caution while traveling. For the latest road conditions, visit 511.alaska.gov or call 511.
