BALDWIN CENTRAL – The National Weather Service (NWS) Mobile AL has issued an Extreme Storm Surge Warning for Baldwin Central, including Daphne, Fairhope, and Foley, effective immediately. This warning was issued on October 9 at 10:13 PM CDT and expires on October 10 at 6:15 AM UTC.

Residents in affected areas must remain sheltered in a safe location. Do not venture outside. Life-threatening storm surge of greater than 3 feet above ground is possible through Saturday morning. Flood preparations and ordered evacuations should be complete, and evacuees should be in shelters well away from storm surge flooding.

Peak winds are forecast to be 25-35 mph with gusts to 55 mph, with a potential for winds of 58 to 73 mph. Last-minute efforts to protect life and property should be complete. The area remains subject to significant wind damage. Now is the time to shelter from dangerous wind.

Additional rainfall of around 1 inch is expected, with potential for moderate flooding. Heed any flood watches and warnings, as failure to take action may result in serious injury or loss of life.
