Winter Weather Advisory: Travel with Caution in Copper Valley Until 10 AM
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Western, Central, and Southern Copper Valley until 10 AM AKDT today, October 4th, due to a wintry mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain. Travel is advised with caution.
Residents in Western, Central, and Southern Copper Valley, including Ernestine, are advised to slow down and use caution while traveling this morning due to a Winter Weather Advisory issued by the National Weather Service Anchorage AK.
The advisory is in effect until 10:00 AM AKDT today, October 4th. A wintry mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain is expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches are possible, along with a light glaze of ice.
The National Weather Service reports that travel could be very difficult. Snow is expected to continue across the southern Copper River Basin this morning. This may briefly change to a wintry mix before southerly winds warm temperatures above freezing, changing precipitation to rain.
