Tropical Storm Warning for Autauga County: Prepare for 70 MPH Gusts, Flooding
A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for Autauga County, including Prattville, with peak wind gusts up to 70 mph and moderate flooding expected from early Saturday morning until Saturday afternoon.
AUTAUGA COUNTY – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Birmingham, AL, has issued a Tropical Storm Warning for Autauga County, effective immediately. This severe warning was issued on October 9 at 6:57 AM CDT and includes Prattville. Residents must complete all preparations as soon as possible.
Peak wind gusts of up to 70 mph are anticipated early Saturday morning until Saturday afternoon. These winds can cause limited damage, including damage to porches, carports, and unanchored mobile homes. Expect broken tree limbs and potential power outages. Move to safe shelter before hazardous winds begin.
A Flood Watch is also in effect. Two to four inches of rain are forecast, with locally higher amounts possible, leading to moderate flooding. Rivers and tributaries may overflow, and floodwaters could enter structures in vulnerable areas. Driving conditions will become hazardous, and road closures are possible. Heed all flood watches and warnings.
