Pinellas County residents can learn to build and maintain vertical oyster gardens at a workshop and giveaway event Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, at Patriot Park, 424 150th Ave., Madeira Beach. The event aims to empower community members to improve local water quality.

Vertical oyster gardens filter pollutants and create essential habitat for marine life in area waterways. The workshop will provide hands-on instruction on constructing the gardens and teach participants about their benefits to the Pinellas County coastline.

Registration is required for the workshop and giveaway. Interested individuals can sign up at madeiravogs.eventbrite.com. Early registration is encouraged due to limited space.
