Residents in the Santa Ana Mountains and Foothills are advised to take immediate precautions as an Extreme Heat Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service San Diego, CA. The warning is effective from now until 8:00 PM PDT on Thursday, October 8th.

Dangerously hot conditions are expected, with high temperatures in the low 90s. Nights will offer little relief, with low temperatures remaining in the low 70s. This prolonged heat increases the risk of heat-related illnesses.

To mitigate risks, residents should drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, and avoid direct sun exposure. Check on relatives and neighbors, especially those who may be vulnerable. It is critical never to leave young children or pets in unattended vehicles, as interior temperatures can become lethal very quickly.
