Residents in the San Diego County Inland Valleys should prepare for dangerously hot conditions today, October 8th, with an Extreme Heat Warning in effect until 8:00 PM PDT. The National Weather Service (NWS) San Diego has issued this warning due to expected high temperatures in the 90s.

Heat-related illnesses are a significant concern during extreme heat events. To mitigate risks, the NWS advises everyone to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, and remain out of direct sunlight. Please check on relatives and neighbors to ensure their safety and well-being.

It is critical to remember that young children and pets should never be left in unattended vehicles. Car interiors can reach lethal temperatures in just minutes, posing a severe danger.
