At 1:04 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm producing golf ball-sized hail was located near Marcus, approximately 14 miles west of Cherokee. The storm is moving east at 25 mph. Marcus is expected to be impacted around 1:05 AM CDT.
The NWS reports that public observations confirm the hazard. The primary impact is significant damage: people and animals outdoors will be injured, and damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles is expected.
Anyone outdoors should move indoors to a well-built structure and stay away from windows. This storm has produced dangerous hail. Report severe weather to your nearest law enforcement agency or the National Weather Service office in Sioux Falls SD.
