Cape Coral Police Arrest 3 Drivers for DUI Overnight

Cape Coral police arrested three drivers for impaired driving during an eight-hour enforcement operation June 12, issuing 55 citations across the city.

Officers conducted 74 traffic stops between 6 p.m. and 2 a.m. The operation resulted in three DUI arrests, four arrests on other charges, and six criminal citations. Police issued 25 speeding citations, 40 moving violations, and cited six drivers for distracted driving. Officers gave warnings to 27 motorists.

The Florida Department of Transportation funded the operation through a sub-grant as part of a partnership with Cape Coral police aimed at reducing crashes and injuries.
