Ian Lee Cain, 78, Longtime Cape Coral Resident and Veteran, Dies

Ian Lee Cain, a longtime Cape Coral resident, passed away in 2026. Cain, who was 78 years old, was known for his dedication to the community, including his 20 years of service as a volunteer at the Cape Coral Animal Shelter and his regular participation in local veterans' events.

Roseberry's Funeral Home & Crematory has announced that services will be held on September 28, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the funeral home, with a reception to follow at the Cape Coral Community Center. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Cape Coral Animal Shelter.

Cain served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. After his military service, he had a distinguished career as a civil engineer with the City of Cape Coral Public Works Department for 30 years, retiring in 2010. He is survived by his wife, Mary Cain, and their two children, David and Sarah, all of whom reside in Cape Coral.

The community is invited to attend the services to celebrate his life and pay their respects to a dedicated resident who contributed significantly to Cape Coral.
