A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Mitchell County, effective immediately, by the National Weather Service (NWS) Tallahassee, FL. This warning was issued on October 9 at 5:05 PM EDT and is set to expire on October 10 at 1:15 AM UTC.

Residents in Camilla and Pelham should finalize preparations now. Winds are forecast to be 15-25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph, with a potential for sustained winds of 39 to 57 mph. Damage to unsecured items, tree limbs, and some power outages are possible. Act now to complete preparations before hazardous winds arrive.

A Flood Watch is also in effect, with an additional 3-6 inches of rain expected, leading to potential major flooding. Evacuations and rescues are likely. Heed all flood watches and warnings; failure to act could result in serious injury or loss of life.

The situation is favorable for several tornadoes, some potentially intense. Those in manufactured homes or on boats should relocate to safe shelters. Listen for tornado watches and warnings, and be ready to shelter quickly if a warning is issued. Significant damage from tornadoes, including power and communication failures, is possible.
