Tax Foreclosure | Fairbanks North Star Borough, AK Skip to Main Content Home Government Departments Financial Services Tax Foreclosure Tax Foreclosure Tax Foreclosure is a section in Treasury & Budget that protects the interests of property tax payers (those who pay timely). Protection is achieved by pursuing delinquent tax accounts throughout a three year process. Fairbanks North Star Borough holds sales of properties acquired through tax foreclosure at least once every two years. UPCOMING IMPORTANT DATES with ADDITIONAL FEES TO BE ADDED (if applicable): November 23, 2026- Litigation Report/Admin Fee February 2, 2027- End of Redemption Notification Fee April 19, 2027- Site Inspection Fee May 12, 2027- Tax Deed Fee September 10, 2027 - Tax Foreclosure Sale The Fairbanks Daily News Miner will publish the list of properties to be included in the Tax Foreclosure Sale on the following days: June 30, 2027 July 28, 2027 August 18, 2027 August 25, 2027 September 1, 2027 September 8, 2027 The FDNM Legal Ad will be updated on this website as properties are removed from the Tax Foreclosure Sale. Also, be sure to view the Tax Foreclosure Interactive Map which shows the property location. This map will not be updated as the properties are removed from the sale. Paying Delinquent Property Taxes At this time, to redeem a property set to be in the upcoming Tax Foreclose Sale, all property taxes must be paid current (through 2026). ALL payments must be paid by GUARANTEED FUNDS. Cashier's Checks and Money Orders must be made out to "FNSB". Be sure to include your Parcel Account Number (PAN) in the memo field. If a wire transfer would be easier, please contact our office for more information. Keep in mind, to keep a property out of the Tax Foreclosure Sale, funds MUST be received by our office no later than 5:00 P.M. AKDT September 10,2027.
