Hillsborough County residents can safely dispose of unwanted medications at multiple Sheriff's Office district locations. The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) provides medication drop-boxes for the proper disposal of expired, over-the-counter, and veterinarian prescriptions.

These drop-boxes prevent the misuse and environmental contamination associated with unused pharmaceuticals, making safe disposal convenient for all county residents.

HCSO District Office Locations with drop-boxes include:

  • District I: 14102 N. 20th Street, Tampa, FL 33613. Phone: 813-247-0600.
  • District II: 2310 N. Falkenburg Road, Tampa, FL 33619. Phone: 813-247-8555.
  • District III: 7202 Gunn Highway, Tampa, FL 33625. Phone: 813-247-0330.
  • District IV: 508 33rd Street S, Ruskin, FL 33570. Phone: 813-247-0455.

Residents may visit any of these locations during operating hours to drop off unused medications. The Sheriff's Office encourages community members to use these secure disposal sites.

An online search tool is also available for residents to locate the nearest disposal box.
